Glocal Robotics has been selected to join ACET—the Technology Startup Accelerator—and become part of one of Canada’s most recognized technology support ecosystems.
We are very excited to embark on this new phase of our development.
Founded in 2011 through an initiative by the University of Sherbrooke and the business community in the Estrie region, ACET’s mission is to identify, support, and propel innovative technology companies with high growth potential. Its approach is based in particular on personalized support for entrepreneurs and access to a vast network of business leaders, coaches, and experts.
Over the years, ACET has developed a true ecosystem around the technology companies it supports. In addition to entrepreneurial coaching, its services include marketing strategy, business development, market intelligence through iA7, and access to financing through its family of funds.
An ecosystem particularly relevant to Glocal Robotics
For Glocal Robotics, joining ACET comes at a particularly important time. After several years dedicated to the technological development of THALAMUS—our autonomous robot designed to monitor large industrial, sensitive, and defense sites—we are now entering a decisive phase: its large-scale commercial deployment in the North American market.
The next 18 months will therefore be particularly intense. We will need to accelerate commercialization, structure our growth, expand our partner network, continue the industrialization of THALAMUS, and constantly adapt our organization to an autonomous robotics market that is evolving extremely rapidly.
In this context, joining ACET means much more to us than simply gaining access to a support program. It offers the opportunity to become part of a true entrepreneurial and technological ecosystem, to regularly test our decisions against the insights of people with extensive experience in starting and growing businesses, and to benefit from a strong network of professionals capable of supporting us through the various stages of our growth.
Expertise, a network… and energy
But there’s also another element we value highly: the energy that such an environment can bring to a team.
Developing complex technology is one thing. Turning it into a commercial product, building a market, winning over the first major clients, and creating a company capable of sustaining that growth is quite another.
During this phase, it’s extremely valuable to be able to step away from the daily grind on a regular basis, share challenges with experienced entrepreneurs and specialists, benefit from outside perspectives, and sometimes simply question certain assumptions. We are therefore very pleased to join this community of entrepreneurs and experts. Thank you to the ACET team for the discussions we had during the selection process, for the warm welcome, and for the trust placed in Glocal Robotics and our project.
